Tread Softly
Tread Softly
Out walking in the park
in the woods
treading softly
so as not to disturb the wildlife
stopped to watch four deer
moving closer
eating contentedly
aware of me but unconcerned
just a few yards away
twin fawns moved to mama
nursing, sucking noisily
awesome
wonderful
until the peace was disturbed
someone running by
alarmed them
mama kicked up her hind legs
white tail flew up
babies got the message
all took off running
